The Most Patriotic Day of Food
I love the Fourth of July. It’s a nice time of year, the food is great, people get together, and it ends with fireworks! I always eat a ton on the 4th, and a lot of that food is patriotic in some way. It got me thinking: What would it be like to have the most patriotic day of food ever?
Get up and prepare a classic breakfast, waffles. Just waffles? But this is The Most Patriotic Day of Food! They must become…4th of July Waffles!
Whipped cream and berries are common additions to my waffles, but this time they have that extra American flair.

It’s the 4th of July, so there’s a party to get to. Looking to bring a dish to pass, I remember the guiding principles of eating patriotic, delicious food, but I also want to be a little healthy. It’s a great opportunity for this 7 layer dip, with hummus instead of sour cream.
The ingredients have been made to look like an American flag, with beans as the field of stars, and tomatoes and cheese as the red and white stripes.
I’m not going to stick just to the main meals of the day, that’s only 3 patriotic things! This snack needs to be quick and easy to make, and quick and easy to eat!
These strawberries are a finger food, and kind of a dessert because of the cheesecake inside. On The Most Patriotic Day of Food, however, there’s no time to wait for dessert! There are red, white, and blue snacks to eat. These can be easily enjoyed while watching fireworks!

This is a little less obvious with the red, white, and blue theme, but fear not: This is a very patriotic dish. White chicken breast with red hot spice rub, which contrasts nicely with blueberry sauce.
It’s also grilled, which is a very 4th of July way to make your dinner! It’s called Red, White, & Blueberry Grilled Chicken.
Red, white, and blue velvet cake, with cheesecake in the middle. By this time I’m not even hungry, I’m just excited.
Red velvet cake is a favorite of mine, so even if velvet cake wasn’t invented until after the Civil War, I’ll eat it and celebrate Independence Day all the same! It’s just as delicious to me.
